July 8, 84 [1884] -- Cousin Lucian, -- Your letter of yesterday has just come to hand. -- It is exceedingly unpleasant for me to be obliged to ask the bank to call back the note after it has been sent for collection. It hurts me with the bank to offer a note for discount and not have it paid. -- However if you cannot pay it send me one for 4 months same amt. payable at same bank in Providence and I will do the best I can. -- Yours truly -- John Keith --
