Abstract

Description

July 6, 86 [1886] Personal -- Friend Pease, -- Your favor of 3 -- d -- at hand. Nothing special was done at the May meeting except to declare an extra dividend. We had a little surplus that we had [been] several years in saving and the directors [felt] unhappy about it and wanted to dividend up.- A sort of killing the goose “Are we going to inflict it on you quarterly”? No. I didn’t think we shall pay another dividend in six months at least and then it will have to be smaller. --
